Slightly Medieval Type L-House

I keep looking for different types of buildings to build. I found a picture on Google search that was very similar to this house and was made with Minecraft for a computer. The building blocks were a little different but the end result is similar, but I added more windows on the house.

I decided this building needed a basement, so I dug down for 3 blocks worth and used Cobblestone to lay out the L shape. Then I Cobblestoned up to ground level (2 blocks tall), then I added one around the perimeter above ground with Cobblestone again. That makes the basement 3 blocks tall not including the layer of flooring. I don't like to feel too enclosed!! After that, I laid the remainder of the house and built up to the roof. Mostly I used Dark Oak Wood, Dark Oak Wood Planks, Birch Wood, Glass panes, Dark Oak stairs, and regular Brick for this build.

Front entrance view. The porch is 2 blocks thick of Dark Oak Wood and the Dark Oak doors are complimented by Dark Oak Wood walking into the main level. I surrounded the house with Oak Leaves for bushes.
This is the main front side of house also. You could put an entrance here, but I liked it on the side with the small porch. I also purposely opted not to have windows here on the main level (where the Brick is) because I didn't want to take away from the look of the exterior.
This view is the complete back side. I did not have any narrow windows on the second level (where the Birch is)at first, but after deciding the upper level was way too dark, I added the narrow ones keeping to the main floor symmetry.
Another view of porch area and last wall.
Main floor entrance and some open space. Next to me, I put in a staircase to upper level, and down the other way I made the stairs to the basement.
I made a little kitchen nook next to the stairs going to the upper level. The basement stairs are behind me.
This is part of the basement.
Upper level where I placed a bed, tv, sitting couch, and library. The fenced area is the stairway down.
Another look at the upper level.
I made a small water feature to go next to the house too. Pretend there are cute fish in there.
