Big house from the book

One of my kids got the Minecraft book that has examples of different buildings and structures. I attempted to build this big log house. It was hard without a blueprint, and I am very bad at making the roof work with that design. If you have the book, you can see the almost identical house in it, except you can see where I got stuck and gave up then winged it. The roof does not match, and part of the back of the house is also different. Overall, I still like it a lot. I built this at the end of 2014. Here are some of the pics from what I ended up with.
